While the average person usually drinks only 2 to 3 liters of water each day, we breathe in approximately 10,000 liters of air on a daily basis. Over a lifetime, this translates to hundreds of millions of liters of air pulled into our lungs, providing a direct pathway for toxins to enter our bodies and compromise our health. Given that we spend about 90% of our time indoors, indoor air quality becomes a key to wellness and a healthy home. At AirLab we have two goals: Help homeowners accurately assess the indoor air quality of their home, and increase awareness to minimize daily exposure to indoor air toxins. Our innovative air sampling kit provides you with measurements of chemicals which are harmful to your health, particularly those known or suspected to be cancer-causing. While the samplers are extremely easy to use, the technology behind the samplers is state of the art and capable of detecting and measuring many of the most harmful toxins. Our AirLab report provides you with a comprehensive assessment of your indoor air quality. Your report includes information on many different types of chemicals and toxins, and it might seem a little overwhelming at first glance. Don't worry, we'll guide you through the information one step at a time. The report provides your results in three main categories:Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) results - Radon levels - Mold and Allergen estimation. And for each category you'll find lots of valuable information. Here's how we've organized things:Chemical or Hazard Name - Level of hazard present in your home - VOC Risk Rating, Radon Action Rating, and Allergen Abundance Rating - Comparison of your VOC and Radon results to typical indoor air levels - Additional links to the AirLab library, including sources of hazards and chemicals, health effects, and suggestions on ways to reduce hazard levels. All testing is done by a government accredited laboratory. (Radon results cannot be provided to residents of Florida, New Jersey or Iowa.)
